Tuesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (last admission 6:30 p.m.).

Closed Mondays, December 25 and January 1 (except for special openings on MiC project).

Please be advised that this Institute is committed to offering the public the widest possible visiting hours, in compliance with the criteria for the opening to the public, supervision and security of state museums and places of culture set forth in the Ministerial Decree of 30 June 2016, pending the completion of the planned competition procedures aimed at overcoming the current staff shortages and the consequent increase in the number of staff in service.

Tickets

€ 16.00 full price

€ 2.00 reduced (EU citizens between 18 and 25 years old)

Tickets can be purchased:

– On-site, at the ticket office, with cash or credit cards

– Online, with credit cards or electronic payment systems

Online ticket purchase, with priority access, is not mandatory but recommended on holidays and weekends (Saturdays and Sundays).

The ticket is nominative

At the time of ticket purchase, each visitor must enter their personal information. At the entrance, the visitor must exhibit:

– the nominative ticket;

– An original identification document.

Access will not be granted if the information provided does not match the ID. In that case, no refund will be provided.

Name change for tickets

A single call sign change is allowed for tickets purchased online or through call centers.

The change must be made by midnight of the day before the ticket is used.

Please note: It is advisable to adhere to the deadlines indicated for named changes and ensure that the required documents are in order to avoid inconvenience during access.

Free Sundays and free admission days

On these occasions, no tickets will be bookable online. All visitors, individuals and groups, will stand in a single line to pick up their free unnamed ticket at the cash register

During evening events, starting at 7:30 p.m., the tour route may be subject to changes or restrictions, and groups are not allowed access.

Castel Sant’Angelo falls under the Roma Pass circuit. Card holders must show it at the ticket office for validation

How to reach Castel Sant'Angelo?

The entrance to the Castle is in front of Ponte Sant’Angelo. No other accesses are provided from the park.

The use of public transportation is recommended:

– Metro Line A – Lepanto or Ottaviano (approx. 20 min walk – approx. 1.3 km)

– Bus lines 23, 271, 280, 62, 64, 46, 982, 40, 34, 49, 87, 926, 990, and 46 (it is advisable to check whether the buses stop near Lungotevere Castello or Lungotevere Tor di Nona, on either side of the Tiber River, respectively)
